And when they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage at the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples

Saying to them, Go into the village opposite you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied and a colt with her; untie them and bring them to me.

And if anyone says to you, Say that the Lord needs them; and immediately he will send them.

This happened in order that what was spoken through the prophet might be fulfilled:

Say to the daughter of Zion, Behold, your king is coming to you, humble and mounted on a donkey, and on a colt, the foal of a beast of burden.

And the disciples went and did as Jesus commanded them.

They brought the donkey and the colt, and they placed their garments on them, and he sat on them.

But the majority of the crowd spread their garments on the road, and others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road.

The crowds who went ahead of him and those who followed were shouting, Hosanna to the Son of David; Blessed is the one coming in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.

And when he entered Jerusalem, the whole city was shaken, saying, Who is this?

The crowds were saying, This is the prophet Jesus from Nazareth of Galilee.

And Jesus entered into the temple, and drove out all those selling and buying in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those selling the doves,

And he says to them, It is written, My house will be called a house of prayer, but you make it a den of robbers.

And blind and lame came to him in the temple, and he healed them.

But when the chief priests and the scribes saw the wonders he had done and the children shouting in the temple and saying, Hosanna to the Son of David, they became indignant.

And they said to him, Do you hear what these are saying? And Jesus said to them, Yes. Have you never read that from the mouths of infants and nursing babies I have prepared praise?

And leaving them, he went out of the city to Bethany, and he stayed there.

Now in the morning, returning to the city, he was hungry.

And seeing a fig tree by the road, he came to it, and found nothing on it except leaves only, and he said to it, No longer let fruit come from you into the age. And immediately the fig tree withered.

And when the disciples saw it, they marveled, saying, How did the fig tree wither immediately?

And Jesus answered them, Truly I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only will you do what is done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, Be lifted up and thrown into the sea, it will happen.

And all things whatever you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.

And when he entered the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came to him as he was teaching, saying, By what authority are you doing these things? And who gave you this authority?

And Jesus answered them, I will also ask you one word, and if you tell me, I will also tell you by what authority I do these things.

Where was the baptism of John from? From heaven or from people? But they were reasoning among themselves, saying, If we say, From heaven, he will say to us, Why then did you not believe him?

But if we say, From men, we fear the crowd, for all hold John as a prophet.

And answering Jesus, they said, We do not know. And he said to them also, Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.

What do you think? A man had two sons. Approaching the first, he said, Child, go work today in the vineyard.

But he answered, I do not want to; afterward, having changed his mind, he went away.

But he came to the second and said the same. And he answered, I will not, sir. But he did not go.

Which of the two did the will of the father? They say, The first. Jesus says to them, Truly I say to you, that the tax collectors and the prostitutes are going ahead of you into the kingdom of God.

For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him; but the tax collectors and the prostitutes believed him; and you, when you saw, did not even repent afterward to believe him.

Hear another parable. There was a man, a landowner, who planted a vineyard and put a fence around it, and dug a winepress in it and built a tower, and leased it to tenants, and went away.

But when the time of the fruits approached, he sent his servants to the farmers to receive his fruits.

And the tenants took his servants; one they beat, another they killed, and another they stoned.

Again he sent other servants, more than the first ones, and they did the same to them.

But later he sent his son to them, saying, They will respect my son.

But the tenants, seeing the son, said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him and seize his inheritance.

And taking him, they threw him out of the vineyard and killed him.

Therefore, when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those farmers?

They say to him, The wicked will be wickedly destroyed, and he will give the vineyard to other farmers, who will give him the fruits in their seasons.

Jesus said to them, Have you never read in the Scriptures: The stone that the builders rejected has become the head of the corner; this came from the Lord, and it is marvelous in our eyes?

Therefore I say to you that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a nation producing its fruits.

And the one who falls on this stone will be broken; but on whomever it falls, it will crush him.

And when the chief priests and the Pharisees heard his parables, they understood that he was speaking about them.

And seeking to seize him, they feared the crowds, because they regarded him as a prophet.
