And to the angel of the church in Sardis write: These things says the one who has the seven spirits of God and the seven stars: I know your works, that you have the name that you live, and you are dead.
Be alert, and strengthen the things that remain, which were about to die, for I have not found your works complete before my God.
Remember therefore how you have received and heard, and keep it, and repent; if then you do not watch, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what hour I will come upon you.
But you have a few names in Sardis who have not defiled their garments, and they will walk with me in white, because they are worthy.
The one who overcomes will be clothed like this in white garments, and I will not erase his name from the book of life, and I will confess his name before my Father and before his angels.
The one who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: These things says the holy one, the true one, the one who has the key of David, the one who opens and no one will shut, and who shuts and no one opens.
I know your works—behold, I have set before you an open door, which no one is able to shut—because you have little power, and you have kept my word, and have not denied my name.
Behold, I will give from the synagogue of Satan those who say they are Jews and are not but lie—behold, I will make them come and worship before your feet, and they will know that I have loved you.
Because you have kept the word of my endurance, I also will keep you from the hour of testing that is about to come upon the whole inhabited earth, to test those who dwell on the earth.
I am coming quickly; hold fast what you have, so that no one may take your crown.
The one who overcomes I will make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he will never go out again, and I will write on him the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from my God, and my new name.
Let the one who has an ear listen to what the Spirit says to the churches.
And to the angel of the church in Laodicea write: These things says the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God.
I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were cold or hot.
So, because you are lukewarm and neither hot nor cold, I am about to spit you out of my mouth.
Because you say, I am rich and have become wealthy and have no need, and you do not know that you are the miserable one and pitiable and poor and blind and naked,
I advise you to buy from me gold refined by fire so that you may be rich, and white clothes so that you may clothe yourself and the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed, and eye salve to anoint your eyes so that you may see.
I rebuke and discipline all whom I love; therefore be zealous and repent.
Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will enter to him and will dine with him, and he with me.
The one who conquers I will grant to sit with me on my throne, just as I also conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne.
Let the one who has an ear listen to what the Spirit says to the churches.
