And now, behold, the king is passing before you, and I have grown old and shall sit, and my sons, behold, are among you, and I, behold, have gone before you from my youth and until this day

Here I am; testify against me before the Lord and before his anointed: whose ox have I taken, or whose ass have I taken, or whom have I oppressed among you, or whom have I extorted, or from whose hand have I taken a bribe and a sandal? Testify against me, and I will restore to you.

when Jacob and his sons entered into Egypt, and Egypt humbled them, and our fathers cried out to the Lord, and the Lord sent Moses and Aaron, and brought our fathers out of Egypt, and settled them in this place

And they forgot the Lord their God, and he gave them into the hands of Sisera, commander-in-chief of Jabin king of Hazor, and into the hands of the Philistines, and into the hands of the king of Moab, and they fought against them

And they cried out to the Lord and were saying, We have sinned, because we forsook the Lord and served the Baalim and the groves, and now deliver us out of the hand of our enemies, and we will serve you.

If you fear the Lord and serve him and listen to his voice and do not rebel against the mouth of the Lord, and if both you and the king who reigns over you are walking after the Lord,

Is it not wheat harvest today? I will call on the Lord, and he will give voices and rain; and know and see that your evil is great, which you have done before the Lord, by asking for yourselves a king.

And all the people said to Samuel, Pray for your servants to the Lord your God, and we shall surely not die, because we have added to all our sins this evil, by asking for ourselves a king.
