2
In the first year of his kingdom, I, Daniel, understood in the books the number of the years, which was a word of the Lord to Jeremiah the prophet, for the completion of the desolation of Jerusalem, seventy years.
4
And I prayed to the Lord my God and made confession and said: Lord, the great and wonderful God, the one keeping your covenant and mercy to those who love you and to those who keep your commandments
7
To you, O Lord, belongs righteousness, and to us shame of face, as it is this day, to the man of Judah and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem and to all Israel, those near and those far away, in all the land where you scattered them there because of their unfaithfulness by which they acted unfaithfully against you
11
And all Israel transgressed your law and turned aside so as not to hear your voice, and the curse and the oath that are written in the law of Moses the servant of God came upon us, because we sinned against him.
12
And he confirmed his words which he spoke against us and against our judges who judged us, to bring upon us great evils, such as have not happened under all heaven according to the things that have happened in Jerusalem.
13
As it is written in the law of Moses, all these evils have come upon us, and we did not entreat the face of the Lord our God, to turn away from our iniquities and to understand all your truth.
16
Lord, in all your mercy let your wrath and your anger now turn away from your city Jerusalem, your holy mountain, because we have sinned, and in our iniquities, and those of our fathers, Jerusalem and your people have become a reproach among all who are round about us.
18
Incline your ear, O my God, and hear; open your eyes and see our destruction and that of your city, upon which your name has been called upon it; for not because of our righteousness do we cast down our compassion before you, but because of your many compassions.
20
And while I was still speaking and praying and confessing my sins and the sins of my people Israel and casting down my supplication before the Lord my God concerning the mountain of the holy one of my God
24
Seventy weeks have been cut short upon your people and upon your holy city, to finish sin and to seal sins and to wipe away lawlessness and to make atonement for injustices and to bring in everlasting righteousness and to seal vision and prophet and to anoint the holy of holies
25
And you shall know and understand: from the going out of a word for the answering and for the building of Jerusalem, until an anointed leader, there shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks; and it shall return and be built, square and wall, and the times shall be emptied.
26
And after the sixty-two weeks an anointed one shall be cut off, and there is no judgment in him; and the city and the holy place he shall destroy together with the ruler who is coming, and they shall be cut off in a flood, and until the end of war, it is determined, with destructions.
27
And he will make a covenant strong with many, one week, and in the half of the week my sacrifice and drink offering will be taken away, and upon the sanctuary the abomination of desolations, and until the completion of time an end will be given upon the desolation
