and you shall swear, As the Lord lives, in truth and in judgment and in righteousness, and nations shall bless themselves in her, and in him they shall praise God in Jerusalem
Circumcise yourselves to your God, and circumcise the hardness of your heart, men of Judah and those who dwell in Jerusalem, lest my wrath go out like fire and be kindled, and there be no one to quench it, because of the evil of your practices from before my face.
Declare in Judah, and let it be heard in Jerusalem. Say, signal on the land with the trumpet, and cry out loudly. Say, gather yourselves and let us enter into the fortified cities.
A lion has gone up from his lair, destroying nations; he has gone out from his place to make the land into a desolation, and cities shall be torn down because they are not inhabited.

And distress, brokenness, it cries out, because all the land has been distressed; suddenly the tent has been distressed, my curtains have been torn apart.
For the leaders of my people have not known me; foolish sons are they and not understanding. They are wise to do evil, but to do good they have not known.
I saw, and behold, Carmel was desolate, and all the cities were burned with fire, because of the presence of the Lord and because of the presence of the fury of his wrath, they were destroyed.
For these things let the earth mourn, and let the heaven above grow dark, because I have spoken and I will not repent; I have rushed on and I will not turn back from it.
At the sound of the horseman and the bent bow, every land withdrew; they went into the caves and were hidden in the groves, and they went up on the rocks. Every city was abandoned; no man dwells in them.
And you, what will you do if you put on scarlet and adorn yourself with ornaments of gold and if you paint your eyes with stibium? In vain is your beautification; your lovers have rejected you, they seek your life.
For I heard a voice as of one in labor, the groaning of you as of a firstborn daughter of Zion; her voice will be weakened, and she will let go her hands: Woe is me, for my soul fails because of those who have been slain
